With a great eye for detail this team member is a valuable member of our cutting team and takes the lead on all things packaging and finishing touches before sending out our bags. One of her favourite parts of being in the production team is having lunch together - ‘they are very friendly people”. Her dream is to “one day be in a factory producing many bags so all people can buy our bag. Another dream of mine is to use my qualifications to work as a physiotherapist in Northern Ireland, I really enjoy working with people.”

Always filled with positivity, this team member keeps the team’s spirits high and mentions his favourite thing about production is “being together as a family” and working with such a wonderful team “we cooperate with each other, we understand each other and we have each other’s back. We have good fun together.”

With an engineering background and an interest in technical drawing he thrives in the cutting team and shares that his dream is that “our bag would be the best out there” along with one day working for one of the best engineering companies using his qualifications and training”.

With a dream to do a lot with sewing in the future and to have her own business where she can produce many things this individual is an incredible seamstress with fountains of knowledge and years of experience in all things sewing - our team problem solver. She thinks the bag is very good and made from a good fabric as well as being very useful for different things such as shopping, holding books and many other things. When asked if there’s anything else she’d like to include she added “I am so happy that I am part of the sewing team and Flourish - we are very proud of what we are producing - hopefully people like it.”

“Sewing has been my thing from when I was growing up, my mother used to use a sewing machine but didn’t let me as I was too young so I was just able to enjoy hand sewing my toys as a child until I first started sewing with a machine when I was 14.”

This individual has been sewing from a young age and her dream is to have a sewing shop in the future where she can make people clothes. She enjoys working with the team, the encouragement and shared that she feels happy coming into the studio adding “some people are bored but if they can get something like this it’s nice.”

An important member of our cutting team, this individual has great focus and patience when it comes to the intricacies of cutting. He shares he finds being part of production very relaxing and enjoys working as a team - we also love how he teaches us new and wonderful ways to make coffee learnt from his home country. A dream of his is to have a big factory making lots of bags in Northern Ireland along with studying ICT in college.

As part of the cutting and sewing team and as the self appointed team barista there is always a buzz about the studio when this team member is around. She has gone from strength to strength since starting Sew & Skill and shares one of her favourite things about being part of the team is having lunch together and making friends. When asked about the bag she shared “You can see the future, seeing the bag makes you feel happy.”
